My son has attended FFJ for over 3 years, having previously done judo at primary school with another club. I knew nothing of FFJ prior to his first session with them, but it was the best move he could have made. The club is friendly, welcoming and committed to all that judo stands for. Sam and Vince are good hearted people who have the best interests of all the members at heart. Their personable professionalism is evident in their dealings with both parents and children, and the children respect and value their guidance. My son's confidence and self belief has developed so much since starting with them. I cannot thank Vince, Sam and the FFJ club enough for all they've done and all they do. I can wholeheartedly recommend FFJ.

My sons have benefited enormously from Judo over the past few years with Sam and Vince who have a fantastic, positive and highly inclusive approach. Michelle and I can't speak highly enough of Sam, Vince, and their team. They have given our son such a huge amount of confidence which he was at one point lacking. We are amazed at how he has progressed in one short year and we cant wait to see this continue. Every session you can see how the focus is not only on the skill development of judo itself but on the development of the child both physically and socially. They seem to get this balance just right and can cater for children of all levels of confidence and ability. Its become a big part of our lives now and we would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyway looking to find a judo club for their child.

I would give more than 5 stars if I could! Both of our children are coached by FFJ at school & club sessions, Vince & Sam are highly experienced, motivated, totally inclusive & definitely child friendly - can't praise them highly enough. You will not find a better environment for your children to learn Judo & experience all the other benefits the sport will teach them.

Really good for kids in my opinion. It has helped my child massively with her confidence and fitness. Instructors help the kids and really take their time to support and develop the kids with a strong positive attitude.

Highly recommend to everyone. My 2 children age 5 and 6 joined Fighting Fitness during lockdown, and have since been attending in person at the Woking site. They both love it. Sam and Vince are both fantastic instructors and are brilliant with the kids who are a mix of shy and confident, and everything in between. The classes are fun and energetic - I would say the best around and I would certainly recommend it to anyone thinking of starting Judo.

Sam provides a good and varied class. Exercises can easily be adapted to your ability. The classes are online so easy to fit into a busy life. I highly recommend it.

Fighting Fitness Judo Raises £600 for Woking Hospice at Dragon Boat Race and Takes 3rd Place

🚣‍♂️ Fighting Fitness Judo Takes 3rd Place at the Woking Dragon Boat Race!

A Day of Teamwork, Community Spirit & Raising Over £600 for Woking Hospice

This past Sunday at Goldsworth Park Lake, something special happened.

Our team from Fighting Fitness Judo stepped off the mats and into the boats to take part in the annual Woking Dragon Boat Race — and it was a day filled with teamwork, fun, laughter… and even a podium finish!

Out of 19 boats, our crew paddled their hearts out and proudly took 3rd place overall! 🥉
But the day wasn’t just about competition — it was about community, connection, and doing something bigger than ourselves.

💚 Raising Money for Woking Hospice

We were incredibly proud to be rowing in support of Woking Hospice, a vital local organisation that provides compassionate care to those in need.

With the support of our club members, families, and local residents, we’ve raised over £600 (and counting!) — and we’re still accepting donations if you’d like to contribute:

🎪 Our Booth: Judo, Prizes & Smiles

While the boats were racing on the lake, our team was on the ground hosting a Fighting Fitness Judo stall — and it quickly became one of the busiest (and most fun!) parts of the park.

✅ We handed out balloons to happy kids
✅ Ran our Spin the Wheel promo, where visitors could win prizes and VIP offers
✅ Answered questions about our judo programmes
✅ And had dozens of great conversations with families who were curious about martial arts and what we stand for

For many, this was the first time they’d spoken to someone from our team in person — and it was a powerful reminder of why we do what we do.

🧠 Why Events Like This Matter

At Fighting Fitness Judo, we don’t just teach martial arts — we teach values.
Events like the Dragon Boat Race give us the opportunity to:

  • Be visible role models in our local community

  • Show children what teamwork looks like — in and out of uniform

  • Raise money for a cause that teaches compassion and service

  • Connect with parents and families in a relaxed, meaningful way

We believe that real confidence comes from contribution, and Sunday was a perfect example of that in action.
